Best SSDs for UGREEN DXP4800 Plus (2026 Guide)

Best SATA SSDs for the DXP4800 Plus

Three sensible ways to fill the four bays depending on budget and capacity needs.

Which should you pick

Why SATA SSDs make sense here

The DXP4800 Plus has two M.2 NVMe slots, but on this model they're best used for read/write cache or a small separate fast volume rather than the whole pool, since NVMe capacity and cost climb quickly. That leaves the four main bays free for 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, which UGREEN supports without restriction. Because the drive support here is genuinely open, unlike some vendor-locked NAS platforms, any of the SSDs above will be recognised and usable without firmware games.

With a 5-core Intel Pentium Gold 8505 and hardware transcode support for Plex and Jellyfin, this box is capable of running several transcode streams while the storage layer stays fast underneath. All-SSD RAID5 across four bays removes the one bottleneck a mechanical array would introduce under multi-user load, and it's near-silent, which matters if the NAS sits somewhere you can hear it.

Remember there's no SHR (Synology Hybrid RAID) on this platform. You're working with Basic, JBOD, RAID0, RAID1, RAID5, RAID6 or RAID10, so mixing drive capacities across bays is less flexible than on an SHR-capable NAS. Buying four SSDs of the same capacity, as in the tiers above, keeps the maths simple and avoids wasted space.

One honest caveat
