Why 32GB is already the ceiling here

The F4-424 Pro uses a single SO-DIMM slot, and TerraMaster fits 32GB of DDR5 as standard. Unlike NAS units with two slots where you can add a second stick to double capacity, this model has nowhere else to put more memory. If you want more than 32GB, the F4-424 Pro simply cannot do it, and no combination of the modules listed above will change that.

What the 32GB does buy you is genuinely useful headroom for the Intel Core i3-N305 in this box. That CPU handles Plex or Jellyfin hardware transcoding comfortably, and 32GB gives plenty of room for read caching, running a handful of Docker containers, and keeping ZFS-style metadata operations snappy if you use one of the two M.2 NVMe slots for cache. For four bays and 2.5GbE networking, this is already a well-balanced spec, not one crying out for more RAM.
