Synology holds its UK pricing tightly and runs fewer retailer promotions than UGREEN or TerraMaster. A single-digit cut that matches our lowest logged price is a better buy than a bigger badge on an inflated reference.

Do newer Synology models need Synology drives?

The 2025 Plus models, including the DS925+ and DS1525+, follow a stricter drive compatibility list that favours Synology's own HAT drives. Check the current list for your DSM version before buying third-party disks.

Is the DS223j worth buying on offer?

Only for simple file sharing and phone backup. Its 1GB of memory and Realtek ARM chip struggle with anything heavier, so the DS224+ is the better long-term buy if the price gap is modest.

Does a Synology NAS include drives?

Diskless listings do not. Some Amazon listings bundle drives, and we leave those out of the per-bay table so you are comparing enclosures with enclosures.
