Quick answer

Nothing on this page is at a price we can confirm as a low today. The best-value option is the SODOLA Unmanaged 9 Port 2.5Gb Switch at £31.87, which is new to our tracker, so we cannot yet judge it against our own records.

Checked 01:01, 7 October 2026

Most current NAS units have 2.5GbE or faster ports, but a standard gigabit switch caps them at around 110MB/s. A 2.5GbE switch lifts that to roughly 280MB/s with no other changes. This page covers SODOLA, TP-Link and QNAP switches, some with 10G SFP+ uplinks, each checked against the lowest price we logged for it.

Verdicts compare today's price with the lowest price we have recorded for the same listing. Amazon was is Amazon's own reference price. Prices can change after our check; the price on Amazon.co.uk at checkout applies.

Is it really a deal?

Network gear often sees genuine cuts at sales events, but we still confirm each against the lowest price we logged for that listing. None of the 9 products we have re-priced is at or within 3% of its lowest recorded price today. 9 are too new to our tracker to measure, so any was-price shown is Amazon's own claim, not ours.

Frequently asked questions

Will a 2.5GbE switch speed up my NAS?

Only if the NAS and your computer both have 2.5GbE or faster ports. A laptop on Wi-Fi or a gigabit port will not see the gain.

Managed or unmanaged switch?

Unmanaged is plug-and-play and fine for most homes. Managed switches add VLANs and link aggregation, which suit homelabs and small offices.

What is an SFP+ port for?

It takes a 10G module or direct-attach cable, used to link a 10GbE NAS such as the DXP4800 Plus to the switch at full speed.

Do I need new cables for 2.5GbE?

Usually not. Cat5e handles 2.5GbE over normal home distances; Cat6 is better for longer runs or 10GbE.
