Quick answer

What is genuinely cheap here today: the WD Red Pro 22TB at £365.00 (£16.59/TB), at or below the lowest price we have recorded for it (£365.00 on 25 Jul 2026). All 40 products in the table are at or near their own recorded low.

This list is meant to be short. A drive earns a verdict here when today's price is at or within 3% of the lowest price we have logged for that exact listing; anything we have not re-priced yet is shown with its check date and no verdict. Every drive is NAS-rated and CMR, which is safe for RAID rebuilds, and the list is ranked by price per terabyte. In a year when most drive discounts are measured against inflated RRPs, this filter removes the noise.

Verdicts compare today's price with the lowest price we have recorded for the same listing. Amazon was is Amazon's own reference price. Prices can change after our check; the price on Amazon.co.uk at checkout applies.

Used, renewed and SAS drives

Kept out of the ranking: renewed drives carry shorter seller warranties, and SAS drives need a SAS controller that home NAS units do not have.

Is it really a deal?

A drive is listed here only when today's price is at or within 3% of the lowest price we logged for it, which is a stricter test than any RRP badge. 40 of 40 products we have re-priced are at or within 3% of their lowest recorded price; the WD Red Pro 22TB is equal to our recorded low of £365.00, logged on 25 Jul 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Why are so few drives on this list?

Because 2026 drive prices are high and most listings sit above the lows we logged earlier in the year. We would rather show five honest prices than fifty percentage badges.

What does CMR mean and why does it matter?

Conventional Magnetic Recording writes tracks side by side, so RAID rebuilds run at full speed. SMR drives can slow to a crawl during a rebuild, which is why we exclude them.

Is the lowest price per terabyte always the best buy?

Within NAS-rated CMR drives, mostly yes. Higher capacities save bays and power, while enterprise models trade more noise for a lower price per terabyte.

How often is this list refreshed?

During the sale we re-check prices three times a day, and our tracker refreshes every listing on a rolling basis at other times. The checked time under the heading shows when these figures were taken.
